Doç. Dr. Özgür AKŞAN

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgür Akşan was born in 1977 in Trabzon. He completed his higher education at Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Medicine and received his Medical Doctor degree in 2000.

He began his career as a general practitioner at Trabzon Arpacılı Health Center. He then started his residency training at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery, and became a Neurosurgery Specialist in 2007.

He was assigned to Muş State Hospital for mandatory service, where he served as Deputy Chief Physician, took responsibility for intensive care units, and became the first neurosurgeon to perform microscope-assisted lumbar and cervical disc surgeries.

Since 2016, he has been providing services at his private practice in Izmir Alsancak. Over time, with the participation of other colleagues, this structure has been institutionalized under the 'Brain and Nerve Clinic' umbrella. He currently continues treating conditions such as brain tumors, brain hemorrhages, lumbar and cervical disc herniations, and spinal canal stenosis at private hospitals.
