The decision is made by evaluating your examination findings, MR results, the nature of your pain (whether radicular pain radiating to the leg is dominant or lower back pain), your response to conservative treatment, and your professional/lifestyle needs together. Not every disc herniation requires surgery; in some cases, interventional treatments such as caudal block or RF may be sufficient.

Endoscopic technique is performed through a single incision of approximately 1 cm, muscle tissue is largely preserved, and same-day or next-day discharge may be possible.
