What is this Condition?
Spina bifida is a neural tube defect where the spine and spinal canal don't close completely during development.
Diagnosis Methods
Can be detected prenatally with ultrasound and AFP test; confirmed after birth with MRI.
Treatment Methods
Surgical repair is performed soon after birth; lifelong multidisciplinary follow-up.
