Treatment Methods
In this method, fine electrodes are placed in the target brain region and connected to a pacemaker-like device usually placed under the chest skin. Post-operative device programming and medication dose adjustment is the most critical part of the process and continues for some time. DBS does not cure the disease; it aims to meaningfully reduce symptoms in appropriate patients.
