What is this Condition?
Diagnosis Methods
Diagnosis is primarily made through physician examination and evaluation of symptoms. Brain imaging and some additional tests can help distinguish other conditions presenting with similar complaints. Determining the stage of disease and its impact on daily living is important in determining the treatment plan.
Treatment Methods
Treatment is based on medication adjustment, regular exercise, and physical therapy (rehabilitation). In advanced stages, deep brain stimulation (DBS) and other methods may be considered in selected patients where medication effect fluctuates throughout the day and is deemed appropriate. The goal is not to completely eliminate the disease but to ease life by keeping symptoms under control.
