What is this Condition?
Spreading of cancers from other parts of the body to the vertebral column and spinal cord region. Most commonly metastasizes from lung, breast, prostate, kidney, and thyroid cancers.
Diagnosis Methods
Spinal MRI, CT, and PET-CT determine metastasis location and extent. Biopsy identifies the primary cancer type.
Treatment Methods
Treatment is planned according to primary cancer, number of metastases, and neurological status. Surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy are combined.
