What is This Treatment?
Epiduroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that involves placing a thin endoscope into the spinal canal to release adhesions, administer medication, and treat nerve roots. It is particularly effective for post-surgical adhesions and chronic back pain.

Treatment Process
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and sedation. An endoscope is advanced through the sacral hiatus into the epidural space, adhesions are released, and therapeutic medications are administered.
When is it used?
- Persistent epidural adhesions and pain syndromes following spinal surgery
- Chronic lower back and leg pain with insufficient response to conventional blocks
- Selected patients planned for more targeted medication application around nerve roots
- Resistant epidural pain syndromes where adhesiolysis is considered necessary
Recovery and planning
Temporary sensitivity may be observed at the procedure site after epiduroskopy; the main goal is reduction in pain pattern and improvement in movement capacity in the following days. Similar level of response is not expected from a single session in all patients. Permanence of results depends on the degree of epidural fibrosis, accompanying mechanical problems, and how well the physical therapy and exercise program is maintained.
