What is this Condition?
Symptoms
Diagnosis Methods
Contrast-enhanced MRI of the nasal sinuses and brain is the primary diagnostic modality; computed tomography is added to demonstrate bony changes. Endoscopic visualization through the nose allows direct tumor visualization and tissue sampling. Definitive diagnosis is established through pathological examination and special staining; additional imaging may be performed to evaluate dissemination.
Treatment Methods
Treatment is primarily based on surgical resection of the tumor. Currently, endoscopic transnasal resection is frequently preferred in suitable patients, avoiding external incisions; more advanced cases may require open surgery. Most patients receive radiation therapy following surgery; chemotherapy may be added in advanced or high-grade tumors.
