What is this Condition?
Pituitary adenoma is a benign tumor originating from the pituitary gland. Can be hormone-secreting (functional) or non-secreting (non-functional). Can cause prolactinoma, acromegaly, and Cushing's disease.
Diagnosis Methods
Diagnosis is made with pituitary MRI imaging and detailed hormonal tests. Visual field examination is performed.
Treatment Methods
Treatment is determined based on tumor type and hormonal status. Medical treatment (dopamine agonists for prolactinoma), transsphenoidal surgery, or radiosurgery may be applied.
