Stereotactic Brain Biopsy
Brain biopsy using three-dimensional coordinate system
What is This Treatment?
Stereotactic brain biopsy involves taking samples from lesions in deep brain regions using a three-dimensional coordinate system guided by CT or MRI. It is the gold standard method for undiagnosed brain lesions.
Benefits
- Millimetric targeting precision
- Minimal brain tissue damage
- Safe diagnostic method
- Short operation time
Treatment Process
A stereotactic frame is attached to the patient's head. CT or MRI images are taken and the lesion coordinates are calculated. A tissue sample is taken from the target lesion through a small incision using a needle. The procedure takes approximately 1-2 hours.
