What is This Treatment?
A procedure in which blood is drawn from the radial, brachial, or femoral artery by needle for arterial blood gas analysis. It is the gold standard for assessing acid-base balance, oxygenation, and ventilation status.

Treatment Process
Allen test evaluates collateral circulation. Under sterile conditions, the artery is palpated and punctured with a heparinized syringe. The sample is sent to the laboratory without air contact.

- Diagnosis of metabolic acidosis/alkalosis
- Optimization of mechanical ventilation settings
- Lactate measurement in shock and sepsis monitoring
Recovery and planning
Hemostasis is achieved with 5-10 minutes of pressure after puncture.
