What is This Treatment?
This procedure involves inserting a needle into the lateral ventricle through the open fontanelle in infants to collect CSF samples, measure pressure, or provide emergency drainage. It is used for urgent pressure relief in hydrocephalus and treatment of ventriculitis.

Treatment Process
A needle is directed through the fontanelle toward the lateral ventricle under sterile conditions. Position is confirmed by CSF flow. Pressure measurement, sampling, or drainage is performed.
